Project Pitch

Hello, my name is Ava and I’m in 10th grade. In my English class, we are doing a passion project and for my passion project I will try to learn and understand a new language, Tagalog. The reason why I am doing this is because it’ll help me communicate better with my grandparents. They both understand and speak English but since they’re getting older, they’re getting dementia and forget that I don’t understand Tagalog, My plan is to watch youtube videos on how to speak Tagalog and then I will start to have conversations with my grandparents in Tagalog. This will help me become closer to my culture and it’ll help me connect better with my family members that don’t speak English.
